Michael J. Coffman

Michael Coffman is a native Kansan, a graduate of the Kansas State University College of Business (1986) and the Washburn University Law School (1989). After working as an associate attorney with Schroeder, Heeney, Groff & Coffman, P.A., in Topeka, Kansas, Mike moved to Fort Scott, Kansas, where he was in private practice and also served as Bourbon County Attorney from 1992 to 1994. In 1996, Mike joined Delton Gilliland and Stephen Jones at the Coffman Firm in Lyndon, Kansas. He has been practicing law in Lyndon since then.

Since his admission to the bar in 1989, Mike has accumulated a broad range of legal experience. He has prosecuted and defended criminal cases; he has represented children, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and family friends in child custody matters; he has represented cities, townships, rural water districts and school districts; he has counseled small businesses from family farms to construction companies through a variety of legal issues.

Mike now focuses his practice on counseling families and small businesses in planning for their future and working through the legal problems that arise.
